Q: How does swapping work?
A: To get an idea how the process works, watch our explainer video (46 seconds), or read the following short description: Alice and Bob want to swap NFTs with each other. Alice selects the NFTs in her wallet she wants to swap. She enters Bob’s wallet address and proposes the swap. Bob sees the content of Alice’s NFTs and adds his own NFTs. He initiates the swap. Alice sees now the swap content and she can either reject or accept the swap.

How swapping NFTs with swap.kiwi works

Q: Do both parties have to propose a swap?
A: No. One party proposes the swap to the other. The counterpart then just goes to open swaps on swap.kiwi and continues the process.

Q: What happens with my NFTs during the swap?
A: Your NFTs are transferred into swap.kiwi’s escrow contract. Once the swap is accepted, the NFTs are swapped. You can of course cancel at any stage of the swap. A cancellation will transfer your NFTs back into your wallet.

Q: Are my NFTs safe with swap.kiwi?
A: Absolutely. Swap.kiwi is the platform of choice for some of the highest valued NFT projects in history. But don’t take just our word on that, have a read here, here, here or here.

Q: Do I have to select the NFTs of my counterpart?
A: No. You choose yours. Your counterpart chooses theirs.

Q: How do I know that the NFTs of my counterpart are legit?
A: We are vetting each contract individually and we will add a verification mark to NFTs from a contract address you can trust.

Q: Which tokens are supported?
A: Currently we support ERC-721, ERC-1155 and Ethereum, but we are working hard on adding more standards to the swap.

Q: Does swap.kiwi support NFT sales?
A: No. Our service is a swapping service. You can swap NFTs + ETH for NFTs.

Q: What wallets are supported?
A: We are supporting MetaMask and basically all mobile wallets via WalletConnect.

Q: Does swap.kiwi charge fees?
A: No. The swapping fee has been paused until further notice.

Q: Why do I need to approve my NFTs?
A: To make swapping possible, we need to be able to transfer tokens on your behalf and only once per contract. This is standard procedure for ERC721 and similar for ERC20. Our smart contract can’t change your token’s behaviour or do something else with the token. The approval button will be displayed on top of your NFT. It looks like this:

Approve your NFT for the swap

You can revoke this approval at any time. Either by interacting directly with any contract (check out this awesome step-by-step guide we made for you 🙌) or just simply go to revoke.cash and revoke the approval via an interface.
